There is no doubt about the astronomical impact Taylor Swift has made in the world of music. The pop star famously feuded with Apple Music where she won and changed streaming services for everyone. Swifties – her beloved fan base – devour her music as well as her fashion since she’s known to have easter egg messages about her upcoming releases through her outfits and ensembles.  

           

The purpose of this blog is to highlight the different eras of Taylor Swift’s fashion, and we dig deep into the vault. So buckle up. She never goes out of style whether she’s walking down Cornelia Street in New York or giving us a mere surprise appearance at the red carpets. Swift’s fashion, over the years, have inescapably changed.

She’s the ultimate fashion risk-taker, we never know what to expect from her.  Swift has stepped out of her box countless times. In the early years of her career, we’ve seen a young, timid Swift who leaned more on amorous ball gowns and feminine silhouettes. We get to see one of her first style evolutions when she stepped out in a suit at the VMAs and wowed us all in 2012. Even more so, between the eras she continued to show us her fashion arsenal through tours and concerts.

The Eras: Sparks Fly in Reds & Purples

  Speak Now Era: 2010-2011 Taylor served a major pushback to her critics when she released her third studio album, Speak Now,  solely written by herself. It amassed a million copies within its first week of release and the story of Speak Now's purple reign begun. This era we see her continuing to embrace her then signature curly hair. Speak Now's  bold, sparkly, royal purple color defined her fashion moments all throughout this era. The Dear John  singer wore gowns shaped like a pastry as a nod to her iconic lyrics.      Taylor treated every ensemble and every appearance in this era as a white-veil occasion.
